Housing services
- The IRC provides assistance to the refugee and immigrant communities with housing difficulties. We teamed up with Wayfinder and Springfield Housing Authority to help families that needed rent assistance and were facing eviction. We assist many families with services such as interpretation, mediation, and referrals, among other things. Clients that come to IRC for help on a daily basis.
Interpretation and Translation
IRC provides interpretation services to immigrant and Refugee families. Assisting with language learning, academic guidance, and access to educational resources and assistance in cultural integration. Translation services and legal support available.
English Second Language (ESL)
The IRC works with the family Services and the city of Springfield, MA to provide language instruction for the Immigrant and Refugee community. Family basic English workshops and ESL classes for adults.
legal advocacy
Most of legal procedures are required to become a U.S. citizen. We assist many clients with this process, especially those who want to transition from refugee to U.S. citizen. We also work to ensure the legal rights of our clients are being upheld while residing in the Springfield MA area, especially when intervention is required due to language and cultural barriers, and in cases of unfair housing practices, allegations of corruption, misunderstandings or eviction.
Immigration
- The IRC offers an array of immigration legal services. Our services are offered in a healing atmosphere with respect and compassion. Each of our immigration staff has been trained in trauma-informed practices which leads to more effective representation. Legal Services Include: Citizenship Asylum Green Card Application

job Readiness
Job placement assistance and resume building workshops.
Training programs for new skill development, interview preparation, communication skills, time management, job search strateges and other essential skills for workplace. We are excited to announce that the IRC is now offering a job readiness program to help community members prepare for employment opportunities. Our program is designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the job market.
youth program
IRC is now offering a youth program for new arrivals and other youth citizens. Our program is designed to provide a safe and supportive environment for youth to learn, grow, and develop new skills.Our youth program includes a range of activities, such as sports, arts and crafts, and educational workshops. We also offer mentorship and leadership development opportunities to help youth build confidence and achieve their goals.
